H2O & Our Body

Everyone knows that water is good for your body. It is your body’s most important nutrient.

It is involved in every bodily function and makes up to 75% of your total body weight.

We need to drink water to survive. Our body is approximately 60% water, our brain 70% and our lungs nearly 90% water. Each day our body must replace 2.4 liters of water through ingested liquid and foods.

Water helps you maintain body temperature, metabolize body fat, aids in digestion, lubricates and cushions organs, transports nutrients and flushes toxins from your body.

Our body uses water in all it’s cells, organs and tissues to help regulate it’s temperature and maintain other bodily functions. Because your body loses water through breathing, sweating and digestion, it’s importance to rehydrate by drinking fluids and eating foods that contain water.

Drink more water everyone, it’s good for your health. Recommendations are at least 8 glasses a day. And although society thinks that tea, coffee, alcohol and sodas are acceptable substitutes, they are not. They contain dehydrating agents so they will rid the body of water and the additional water from the body’s reserves. Plain water is what we need as well as teaching our children the importance of H2O & OUR BODY.
